Facilities Officer
The School is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Facilities Officer to join our School.
The Facility Officer role will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the School buildings and mainly the upkeep of the grounds and gardens, which are undertaken by a small team of staff.
The role is an ongoing, full-time position and involves work during term time and school holidays, with 4 weeks leave a year.
Daily hours are 7.00am to 3.00pm, however some flexibility is required. Start date to be negotiated with the successful candidate, to commence as soon as possible.
Previous school facilities and garden, maintenance experience would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities
Gardens and Grounds
Prune plants, fertilise gardens and lawns, weed garden beds and mow lawns.
Ensure that the grounds are well maintained and free of debris and litter.
Assist with monitoring and inspecting cleaning to ensure high sanitary standards of cleanliness are maintained.
Maintain the automatic water reticulation system including the bores and basic reticulation repairs.
Rake sandpits on a regular basis to ensure their safety and freedom from foreign objects.
Sweep, blow and pressure clean paths, roadways and hard courts on a regular basis to remove litter and accumulation of leaves and other debris.
Check the ovals for foreign objects and report any maintenance issues to the Facilities Manager.
Buildings and Facilities
Carry out minor repairs and maintenance to School buildings, such as:
Repairing breakages and damage (plaster, windows, doors, etc.)
Undertake maintenance and repairs of equipment and furniture.
Maintenance such as painting, plumbing, replacing light bulbs, removing graffiti.
Ensure security, smoke detector alarms and other automated systems (such as air conditioning and lighting) are effectively maintained and operated.
Clean out spoon drains and grates and ensure storm water pipes and soak wells are operating.
Assist with the management of waste disposal for the School.
Install, move, store and relocate furniture and equipment as required.

Desirable Selection Criteria
Previous experience working in a school setting
Gardening skills and experience
Trade qualifications
Knowledge of reticulation systems
Ability to operate and maintaining machinery
Applied First Aid and CPR certificate
Test and Tag Certification
