Gateway Group is a locally owned company with workshops based in High Wycombe & Malaga. Operating since 2003, we have a high degree of experience in the chrome plating and engineering field. Specialising in Hydraulic Cylinder repairs for Mining, Civil, Earthmoving, Construction and Oil & Gas. 
 

About the role
An exciting career opportunity is now available for a machinist and or machinist/vertical borer operator to join our dynamic team, at our workshop in High Wycombe. 

The ideal candidate must be able to operate manual lathes, milling machines, general workshop machines and hand tools.  Understanding of both CNC and manual machining processes, with the ability to program on machine and setup a wide variety of components for machining.

Previous experience operating horizontal and vertical boring machines will be highly regarded and viewed favorably.

Previous experience in hydraulic cylinders or earthmoving equipment repairs would be advantageous.

Additionally, you will be required to maintain safe work practices and a safe work environment. 

Monday to Friday. Option of weekend work or afternoon shift available.

Skills and experience

  • Mechanical Trade Qualification is a must

  • A demonstrated commitment to safety with the ability to work unsupervised

  • Sound experience in machining hydraulic cylinder components (desirable but not a must)

  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of Quality Control

  • Proficient manual machining skills

  • The ability to show initiative

  • Valid Driver’s licence

  • Be able to pass a medical including D&A
