Based in Kewdale, we are seeking an experienced and hands-on Service & Repairs Manager to lead our workshop operations and service team. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a growing business where you can make a genuine impact while building a long-term career.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our Service & Repairs Department, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the high standards our customers expect.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines workshop management, customer interaction, scheduling, quoting and team development. You will work closely with production, procurement and administration teams to ensure jobs are delivered on time and to budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the Service & Repairs Department.

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring clear communication, professional service and timely follow-up

  • Schedule and coordinate workshop workloads and resources.

  • Supervise, mentor and support workshop personnel.

  • Allocate work and monitor productivity across the department.

  • Prepare quotations for repairs, modifications and service work.

  • Liaise with customers regarding repairs, timelines and job progress.

  • Monitor job quality and conduct final inspections.

  • Work closely with manufacturing, procurement and administration teams.

  • Ensure workshop activities comply with company safety and quality requirements.

  • Assist with technical problem-solving and workshop support where required.

  • Drive continuous improvement across workshop processes and performance.

  • Monitor department performance and assist with future growth planning.

 

About You

You are a practical leader who enjoys building strong teams, solving problems and delivering quality outcomes for customers.

You will bring:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory, leading hand or management role.

  • Experience within heavy vehicle repairs, trailer manufacturing, fabrication or a related industry.

  • Strong knowledge of welding, fabrication and repair processes.

  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.

  • Commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced workshop environment.

Highly Regarded

  • Repairer's Certificate.

  • Experience with VSB6 regulations and trailer compliance requirements.

  • Knowledge of trailer componentry and transport equipment.

  • Experience with hydraulic systems.

  • Forklift Licence.

  • Experience working within quality, safety or integrated management systems.
