About the role

We are seeking a motivated Workshop Technician to provide hands-on technical support in the assembly, maintenance, testing, and repair of oilfield equipment and tools.

Previous experience in the oil and gas industry is desirable but not essential. Candidates who are mechanically minded, eager to learn, and committed to developing their technical skills are encouraged to apply. Experience working with Downhole Rental Tools (DRT) will be highly regarded.

This is a full-time, permanent position based at our new facility in Jandakot, Western Australia.

 Key Responsibilities include

  • Maintain and service tools in accordance with company procedures and supervisor instructions.

  • Assemble and make up tubulars using torque equipment.

  • Conduct hydraulic pressure testing to verify the integrity of assembled equipment.

  • Prepare, load, and unload equipment for dispatch to and return from rig sites.

  • Operate overhead cranes and forklifts and perform slinging activities in accordance with relevant regulations and procedures.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.

  • Coordinate verification, calibration, and maintenance of workshop equipment and measuring instruments.

  • Ensure equipment is maintained in good working order and ready for operational use.

  • Comply with the IOT Energy Services Quality Policy, Quality Systems Manual, operating procedures, technical procedures, and workplace instructions.

  • Uphold the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental responsibility.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills.

  • Commitment to workplace health and safety requirements.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Basic computer literacy.

  • Demonstrated interest in, or ability to learn, hydraulic and mechanical systems.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.

Desirable

  • Experience in a similar role within the oil and gas, mining, or related industries.

  • Experience assembling and disassembling downhole rental tools, casing and tubular handling equipment, or completion equipment.

  • Experience operating torque-turn units and pressure testing systems.

  • Forklift operating experience (including larger-capacity units).

  • Experience operating overhead gantry cranes.

  • Experience with High Pressure Water Jetting (HPWJ) equipment.

  • Competency in the use of hand tools and precision measuring instruments.

Training courses will be provided to the appropriate candidates, if necessary (Forklift Training, Dogging Training, HPWJ Training (High Pressure Water Jetting).
