You’re the steady hand behind the wheel.

You know the importance of safety, reliability and doing your part to keep our community clean and green. At the City of Armadale, we’re looking for a dependable operator to join our Resource Collection and Recovery Team. If you’re someone who values safety, teamwork and delivering great service, this role is for you.

Our waste and recycling operations are a critical part of our city’s environmental future. You’ll play a key role in ensuring that waste collection is efficient, sustainable,
and customer-focused.

What the role looks like

  • Safely operate and maintain resource collection vehicles across residential, commercial and public areas.
  • Collect and manage waste, recycling and litter bins while ensuring minimal environmental impact.
  • Perform daily vehicle maintenance checks and report any defects or issues
  • Collaborate with the Resource Collection team to deliver consistent and reliable service.
  • Engage with the community by responding to customer requests and providing courteous service.

You’re someone who...

  • Has experience safely driving large vehicles, preferably waste collection trucks or heavy equipment.
  • Understands the importance of health and safety and actively contributes to a safe work environment.
  • Is physically fit and able to handle manual tasks like lifting and navigating varied terrain.
  • Can accurately record and report service and vehicle maintenance data.
  • Holds a current HR Class Drivers Licence and Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • Is ready to support a team and deliver excellent customer service.

Why this, why now?

Because keeping our community clean and sustainable requires more than just trucks on the road, it takes people who care, drive safely and act responsibly.
This is your chance to be part of a team that makes a real difference in everyday life while growing your skills and career in a supportive environment.
