About the Role

You will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing electrical and electronic systems on a wide range of heavy mobile mining equipment. Working within a safety-focused team environment, you will support operational reliability and minimise equipment downtime across multiple mine sites and client operations.

Task & responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, scheduled servicing, and breakdown repairs on heavy mobile mining equipment.
• Service and maintain OEM fleets including CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi, Liebherr, Sandvik, Epiroc, and Atlas Copco.
• Install, repair, replace, and rewire electrical components, wiring harnesses, and control systems.
• Troubleshoot and program engine, transmission, hydraulic, and electronic control modules (ECMs).
• Utilise OEM diagnostic systems including CAT SIS, CAT ET, KOMTRAX, and related software.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams.
• Complete maintenance reports, inspection records, and job documentation accurately.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, customers, and maintenance teams while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Qualification & experience

• Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology (or equivalent).
• Completed a recognised 4-year apprenticeship.
• Minimum 3 years post-apprenticeship experience working on heavy mobile equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across electrical, electronic, and CANbus systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence (manual preferred).
• High Risk Work Licences (LF, WP, DG, Rigging) highly regarded.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
