Automotive Workshop Controller | Northside Nissan

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Automotive Workshop Controller to join our busy and growing automotive service department. This is a key leadership role responsible for coordinating workshop operations, maximising productivity, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
The successful candidate will work closely with technicians, service advisors, and management to ensure the efficient flow of work through the workshop while meeting performance, safety, and profitability targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and allocate daily workshop jobs to technicians.
• Monitor workshop productivity, efficiency, and labour utilisation.
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance work are completed to manufacturer and company standards.
• Support technicians to achieve high levels of performance and quality.
• Liaise with service advisors regarding job progress, additional work requirements, and vehicle completion times.
• Conduct quality control checks before vehicle delivery.
• Manage workshop health, safety, and housekeeping standards.
• Assist with parts coordination and workflow management to minimise downtime.
• Monitor and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) relating to productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate workshop records and documentation.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, Senior Technician, Foreman, or similar automotive leadership role favourable.
• Proven ability to manage workflow and prioritise competing demands.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
• Current driver's licence.
• Relevant automotive trade qualification preferred.
