Apprentice Baker

About the role

Bakers Delight Myaree is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Apprentice Baker to join our baking team. This is a full-time apprenticeship position based in Myaree, WA 6154. As an Apprentice Baker, you will be learning the craft of baking whilst working alongside experienced bakers in a professional bakery environment. This role is ideal for someone passionate about baking who is ready to develop their skills and knowledge in a supportive setting. You will gain hands-on experience in all aspects of bread and pastry production, from preparation through to final product quality control.

What you'll be doing

1. Assisting in the preparation of dough and ingredients according to established recipes and quality standards

2. Learning and performing various mixing, shaping and proofing techniques under supervision

3. Operating baking equipment safely and effectively, including ovens, mixers and proofing machines

4. Ensuring all baked goods meet our high quality and consistency standards

5. Assisting with the production of a range of breads, pastries and baked items

6. Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the baking area and throughout the bakery

7. Following food safety protocols and best practices in all production activities

8. Contributing to the efficient running of the bakery production schedule

9. Receiving training and mentorship from experienced bakers and kitchen staff

What we're looking for

1. A genuine passion for baking and a desire to develop skills in the baking trade

2. No previous baking experience is required as we welcome complete beginners who are eager to learn

3. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards

4. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

5. Good physical fitness and stamina, as the role involves standing for extended periods and manual tasks

6. Reliability, punctuality and a positive attitude towards learning

7. Willingness to follow instructions and take on feedback constructively

8. Food safety awareness and a commitment to maintaining excellent hygiene standards

9. Relevant apprenticeship qualification or enrollment in a baking apprenticeship programme (or willingness to undertake one)

10. Ability to work early morning shifts (bakers typically start work early)
