We are seeking experienced underground Auto Electricians to work on a 6:3 roster at our newly appointed Project in Senegal, West Africa. With a strong focus on training the national workforce. This challenging and rewarding role will provide you with an excellent opportunity to further develop your career and work alongside experienced industry professionals in a safe, dynamic and outcome focused environment.  

Duties involved in the role: 

• Carry out scheduled servicing to mobile equipment in a safe manner and in accordance with procedures, regulations, and the relevant service sheets. 

• Mentoring, Coaching and Developing National trades personnel. 

• Utilise skill and experience to create minimum downtime on machinery. 

• Ensure correct recording and reporting of maintenance is achieved. 

• Maintain a high level of housekeeping in workshop and working areas at all times. 

• Read and interpret Service and Spare parts manuals. 

• Report all equipment faults to the Maintenance Foreman for scheduling into the workshop weekly planning.   

Our ideal candidate background includes 

• Strong background in underground hard rock mining (essential)  

• At least 5 years post apprenticeship experience working within the underground mining industry on large mobile equipment. 

• Trade Certification III or IV in Auto Electrical Technology.  

• Strong background working with latest generation SANDVIK, CAT and Atlas underground mobile equipment and associated automation systems. 
• Strong background working with latest generation underground mobile equipment and associated automation systems either RCT or AutoMine.

• Self-starter who will work with minimal supervision. 

• Excellent service and maintenance approach to the job. 

• Manual Drivers Licence and the ability to obtain an International Driver’s Licence. 

• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork  

• Experience in Africa or other developing regions highly regarded  

• Ability to adapt to rostered expatriate lifestyle Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.  
• Experienced in training less qualified tradespeople to a high standard in a high productivity underground contracting mining environment.

• Cultural awareness and sensitivity.
