The RRM Group is a specialised Engineering and Services Corporation based in Brabham, Western Australia. It is a multi-disciplinary engineering contractor to the oil and gas, civil and industrial engineering projects. The RRM Group provides engineering and construction services such as: Engineering Designs, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical Instrumentation and Piping, Offshore and Onsite Logistics, Fixed/Mobile Plan Maintenance, etc.
This role has full time hours and overtime work is required on a regular basis. The salary range is $77,000.00 to $80,000.00 per annum plus superannuation. Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Reading blueprints and drawings; taking measurements to plan layout and procedures. Determining the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor.
Setting up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements). Preparing and welding metal structures and components by using high heat equipment and welding processes such as FCAW, MIG, TIG, and electric arc welding. Operating hand-welding and flame-cutting equipment such as oxyacetylene torch, electric arc machine, and robotic welding cells based on project needs.
Welding components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead) Assessing welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify errors. Testing and inspecting welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
Monitoring machinery for appropriate usage and temperature. Must know and have experience with STT/RMD root run & FCAW (fill & cap) Successful candidates must have:
Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints. Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a qualified welder or fabricator Knowledge of welding machinery, electrical equipment, and manual tools
Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMAW, FCAW etc. Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.) Commitment to working safely and reliably.
