The role

We are seeking a qualified Crane Technician to join our Cranes and Lifting Team in Perth. This is a full time permanent opportunity carrying out crane inspections, maintenance, fault finding and executing remedial and preventative correctives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform risk-based condition inspections and complete the necessary reports documenting all findings

  • Perform inspections of prime movers, motors, pumps, hoses, valves, wire ropes, hook blocks, hoists and crane structures

  • Complete routine and corrective maintenance on cranes

  • Crane component strip down inspections and overhauls

  • Crane component replacements

  • Conduct fault finding investigations on crane subsystems

  • Perform testing/commissioning of cranes and crane subsystems in accordance with Company procedures

  • Maintain, test and calibrate rated load capacity indicators, data-loggers or overload protection devices

  • Submit close out paperwork with basic level of detail inclusive of, but not limited to; inspection checklists, worksheets, site service reports and work scope summaries

  • Survey Client site, crane and relevant equipment for the execution of planned work scopes

Qualifications & Experience

  • 2-5 years’ experience as a Crane Technician

  • Australian Mechanical or Heavy Diesel Trade Qualification

  • Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET)

  • Entering and Working in Confined Spaces (EWICS)

  • Working at Height (WAH)

  • Common Safety Training Program – CSTP (Desirable)

  • Maritime Safety Identification Card (MSIC)

  • Valid driver’s licence

  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident

  • Previous offshore experience in a similar role working on pedestal and overhead cranes

  • Excellent communication and proficient using a computer

  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team

  • Ability to read and execute work packs/instructions
