Job Description

Taris Engineering is a well-established engineering and fabrication company based in Malaga, Western Australia, providing high-quality services to the mining, industrial, and heavy engineering sectors. We are currently seeking an experienced Hydraulic Fitter to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot hydraulic fitting and tooling relevant to the role.
  • Interpret technical specifications to determine the best method.
  • Understand and implement quality control techniques to ensure finished parts meet specifications.
  • Perform or advise of preventative and routine maintenance, minor repairs on machines and diagnosing faults, under management authorisation.
  • Operates lifting equipment incidental to the role.

(Forklift License Required)

  • Performs non-trade tasks incidental to the role.
  • Maintain a clean workplace, follow safe work practices and report workplace hazards.
  • Work under limited supervision either individually or in a team environment.
  • Provides trade guidance and assistance as part of a work team.

Skills & Experience

  • Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Fitting & Turning, or similar (preferred)
  • Proven experience in a similar hydraulic fitter or mechanical maintenance role.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and components.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong math skills for calculations related to dimensions, speeds, and feeds.
  • High attention to detail to ensure specifications are met.
  • Strong understanding of metal properties, machining processes, and workshop practices
  • Excellent time management and organisational abilities
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and provide trade guidance as part of a team

Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 per annum, commensurate with skills and experience.
