About the Position

The Trainee Horticulturalist will undertake on-the-job learning alongside the City's Parks & Environment teams, while studying towards a Certificate III in Horticulture. The Trainee Horticulturalist will work to perform all operational duties associated with the establishment and maintenance of parks, streetscapes, plant nursery and landscape areas within the City.

Please be aware that this position will require enrolment in a Certificate in Horticulture at TAFE which the City will assist with.

To be successful in this position you will need to demonstrate:

  • Working towards a Certificate III in Horticulture.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Sound verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound written literacy, numeracy and computer skills.
  • Basic understanding of small motor/ plant operation.
  • Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence.
  • Current National Police Clearance.
