Service Manager & Support Worker (Dual Role) – Perth
Are you an experienced Support Worker with a knack for leadership? Eternal Disability Care (EDC) is looking for an agile, dual-role professional to join our expanding Perth team. This is a unique opportunity to maintain your connection to frontline support while stepping up into a management career path.
The Opportunity
As we grow, so do you. You will alternate between providing high-quality Support Work (SW) and performing Service Manager (SM) duties. This role is perfect for a Senior SW or Team Leader ready to take the next "plunge" into management.
This position allows you to alternate your impact, spending a set number of days each month in a Service Management role and the remainder providing direct support to our participants.
Key Responsibilities
What You'll Do as a Service Manager
Operations: Manage staff rosters, review timesheets and maintain data integrity in the Vertex portal.
On-Call Responsibilities: Manage "On-Call" duties, providing urgent support and troubleshooting for staff and participants after hours.
Staff Development: Oversee and facilitate ongoing training programs for staff, ensuring the team stays informed about the latest developments, best practices, and NDIS regulations. You will provide direct training and support to staff to ensure they understand these rights and actively uphold them in every interaction.
Client & Staff Feedback: You will be responsible for obtaining regular feedback from both clients and staff. Your goal is to use this insight to refine service delivery and ensure we are meeting the needs of our community effectively.
Documentation & Reporting: Responsible for the accurate documentation, reporting, and follow-up of all incidents to drive continuous improvement and service excellence.
Balancing Dignity of Risk and Duty of Care: A crucial aspect of this role is finding the right balance between respecting the dignity of our clients' choices and ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
Budget Management & Resource Optimisation: Ensure that all programming requirements and client activities align financially with the allocated budget. Manage resources efficiently and make informed decisions to optimize spending while maintaining the highest standard of care for our clients.
What You'll Do as a Support Worker
Support daily living tasks including personal care, meals, and household duties
Assist with community access, appointments, and social activities
Follow Behaviour Support, Mealtime, and Health Management Plans
Support participants with dignity, safety, and independence
Complete accurate shift notes and documentation.
Requirements
Proven experience in high quality Support work combined with the leadership skills necessary to mentor staff and advocate for participant goals.
Having experience as House Supervisors/Service Administrators and House Coordinators would be an advantage
Willing to travel to different SIL locations in Perth
Strong understanding of NDIS Framework, including restrictive practices and intensive support activities
Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to gather and act on feedback.
Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check, Driver's License
Relevant qualifications in Disability Support or related fields.
