Prendiville Catholic College is a Catholic co-educational College established by the Archdiocese in 1986 with over 1100 students from Year 7-12.  The College is a community of faith and learning modelled on the College motto ‘Christus Pastor Meus – Christ My Shepherd’ where everyone feels Safe, Happy, Included and Respected – The Prendiville Way.

Prendiville Catholic College is seeking a motivated and hands-on Grounds & Maintenance Officer   to join our facilities team and help maintain our vibrant and well-presented campus.

This is a busy, varied and active role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in practical work, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

The role is offered for a one-year fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension/permanency.

The Position | Grounds & Maintenance Officer

Employment conditions | Full-time | Temporary one year contract, with the possibility of becoming permanent.

Commencement date | as soon as possible | to be negotiated at interview.

Application closing date | 2pm, Tuesday 31 March 2026.

Salary | In accordance with the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Perth Non-Teaching Staff Enterprise Bargaining Agreement 2014.

  • $65,076 - $68,838 per annum (as at 01.01.26)

  • 48 weeks per year (full-time) plus 4 weeks annual leave.

  • Hours are Monday to Friday, 6.30 am to 3.00 pm

  • 1 Rostered Day off per calendar month

Key Requirements are as follows:

General Maintenance:

As well as the normal responsibilities of a Grounds and Maintenance Officer, the successful applicant will actively support College operations with the following:

  • Undertake duties required to maintain the grounds, ovals, grass areas and garden beds. 

  • Maintain irrigation systems and monitor the College grounds presentation.

  • Keep outdoor areas clean, tidy and hazard-free.

  • Assist with General maintenance duties around the College.

  • Compliance with all relevant legislative and regulatory obligations.

  • Flexibility in the workplace, open to new ideas and concepts, working independently or as part of a team and to be able to carry out multiple tasks or projects.

  • Occasional after-hour work as required.

  • Undertake other duties as directed by the Property Manager and Head of Grounds.

  • A willingness to undertake tasks as requested by the Principal or their delegate.

Campus Operations:

  • Assist with set-ups for College events and activities.

  • Support the wider facilities team with day-to-day operational tasks.

  • Report maintenance issues and assist with resolving them efficiently.
