Franmarine is a global leader in in-water hull cleaning, inspection, and biofouling management solutions supporting naval, commercial shipping, and port authority clients.
We are seeking a Field Technician – Biofouling Operations to join our WA Operations team in Perth. This is a hands-on, field-based role working with advanced marine technology including ROVs, hull cleaning crawler systems, industrial filtration units, and digital reporting platforms to support vessel biofouling management operations across ports and naval facilities.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys technical field work, marine operations, and working with innovative technology in a dynamic environment.
Operate ROVs and hull cleaning crawler systems during in-water vessel inspection and cleaning operations.
Assist with the mobilisation and deployment of specialised equipment at ports, harbours, and dock facilities.
Operate and monitor industrial filtration systems used in environmentally compliant hull cleaning operations.
Capture and manage operational data using the MarineStream digital platform.
Support commercial diving operations including topside support and equipment preparation.
Perform routine equipment inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Ensure compliance with WHS procedures and environmental requirements during all operations.
We are looking for a reliable and practical team member who enjoys working in a hands-on marine environment.
Essential
Current driver’s licence
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with technical equipment
Experience using hand and power tools
Ability to work safely in marine or industrial environments
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
Willingness to work flexible hours including early starts and occasional weekends
Desirable
Experience operating ROVs, crawler systems, or remotely operated equipment
Marine industry experience (diving support, vessel maintenance, port operations)
Forklift licence or willingness to obtain
Working at Heights / Confined Space certification
Senior First Aid or White Card
Small vessel or coxswain qualification
Trade background in mechanical, electrical, or marine engineering

Additional Requirements:
Maintain currency in qualifications, inductions, and relevant licenses/inductions in line with the job role
Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance. *Note: For certain projects, higher clearance may be required.
