Etch Coatings is a West Australian company with a high-tech painting, industrial coating & Powder Coating facility in Wangara & are looking for experienced sand blasters to join our team.
About you:
We are seeking experienced applicants that have a good work ethic, can follow instructions and willing to be part of a growing team.
Shift Details:
This is a night shift position, commencing between 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM and finishing between 1:00 AM – 2:00 AM.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare surfaces for coating, painting, or finishing using abrasive blasting equipment.
Operate and maintain sandblasting machinery and related tools safely and efficiently.
Remove rust, scale, paint, grease, and other surface contaminants from steel and metal products.
Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to ensure quality standards are met.
Select appropriate abrasives and blasting techniques based on job specifications.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of blasting equipment.
Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including correct use of PPE.
Work collaboratively with fabrication, welding, and painting teams.
Meet production targets while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
Assist with general workshop duties as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
Previous experience in sandblasting or abrasive blasting (industrial or workshop environment preferred).
Experience working with steel, structural steel, or fabricated metal (highly regarded).
Ability to operate blasting equipment safely and efficiently.
Knowledge of surface preparation standards.
Strong understanding of workplace health & safety procedures.
Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks.
Forklift License (LF) – highly regarded.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Reliable, punctual and strong attention to detail.
