Berkeley River Lodge is seeking an experienced maintenance worker to join our team ahead of the seasonal opening, playing a key role in preparing the lodge for the upcoming season and then continuing in the position throughout the operating period.

This is a hands-on role suited to a highly capable all-rounder who enjoys remote living, takes pride in high standards, and thrives in a small, professional team delivering one of Australia’s most remote luxury experiences.

About the Role

You will be heavily involved in pre-season preparation, ensuring all infrastructure, accommodation, plant, and equipment are operational and guest-ready. Once the lodge opens, the role transitions into ongoing maintenance and operational support throughout the season.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre-season preparation of lodge facilities and guest accommodation

  • Ongoing maintenance and repairs across the property during the season

  • Servicing and upkeep of vehicles, boats, plant, and equipment

  • Operation of machinery including loaders and excavators (highly regarded)

  • Road maintenance throughout the property

  • Waste management, recycling, and servicing composting toilets

  • Operation and monitoring of solar systems and generators

  • Undertaking small infrastructure and improvement projects as required

About You

You will bring:

  • Proven experience in a maintenance role, ideally within a resort, lodge, or remote environment

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

  • Experience operating loaders and excavators (a strong advantage)

  • High attention to detail and a proactive, can-do attitude

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team

  • Professional presentation with strong communication skills

  • The ability to live and work comfortably in a remote location

  • A genuine appreciation for the Kimberley and its unique environment

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary

  • Accommodation and meals provided

  • 11 days on / 3 days off per fortnight roster

  • Opportunity to be involved from pre-season through to full lodge operations

  • A varied, rewarding role in an extraordinary and unique workplace

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Worker to be involved in the full lifecycle of the season—from pre-season setup to delivering exceptional standards throughout lodge operations.
