The right candidate:

If you are a qualified Laboratory Technician with experience in fuel products and strong attention to detail – we want to hear from you. 

Specific responsibilities:

  • Carrying out testing in a variety of methods

  • Inspecting all submitted samples for compliance 

  • Laboratory testing of petroleum, environmental, water and other products.

  • Sample logging into LIMS or equivalent sample management system.

  • Follow, without deviation, all test methods, work instructions and procedures.

  • Completing testing worksheets in accordance with QC/QA protocols. 

  • Ensure all records are accurate and complete.

  • Follow through with incomplete samples and customer requests.

  • Ensure that all customer deadlines or turnaround times are met.

  • Perform Calibration and Preventative Maintenance of instruments / equipment

  • Commission and validate instruments

  • Monitor performance of instruments following Quality Control procedures.

  • Develop procedures and work instructions, where required

  • Prepare corrective and preventative action reports

  • Attend all safety and quality meetings.

Essential Requirements:

  • Diploma in Science or Chemistry; or Laboratory Technician certificate

  • Experience in  petroleum, oil and/or chemical industries. 

  • A current Australian Drivers Licence 

  • Evidence of the right to live and work in Australia 

Other Required Skills:

  • Ability to receive and accept instructions

  • Strong attention to detail 

  • Dedicated to safety 

  • Must be flexible 

  • Strong team player with positive attitude

  • Good Laboratory housekeeping

  • Excellent communication – written and verbal 

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Sound knowledge and comprehension of standard published methods ASTM, IP, ISO and APHA test methods.
