PLC Perth in Western Australia is one of Australia's leading schools for girls. Our campus is located in the leafy suburb of Peppermint Grove, situated between the ocean and the river.

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Teacher of Food Science and Technology to join our Creative Arts and Technology team. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality education in food science, fostering students' understanding of nutrition, food safety, and food innovation. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of our students and promoting a passion for food science. Experience teaching textiles would also be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging and innovative lesson plans that meet food science curriculum requirements
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their learning.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration through differentiation.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and developments in food science education.
  • Organise and supervise practical cooking sessions and food science experiments.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience and contribute to co-curricula activities and events.
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff regarding student performance and curriculum updates.

Qualifications and Selection Criteria:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Education, or a related field.
  • Eligibility for registration with TRBWA.
  • Proven experience as a teacher in food science or related subjects eg: textiles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate nd innovate students.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Strong ICT skills and experience in a MAC environment would be advantageous
