We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Operations Coordinator who can demonstrate the following:

  • Expertise in fatigue management, in line with WA fatigue guidelines, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our team members and drivers.

  • Proficiency in ensuring drivers are applying safe and compliant load restraint techniques, ensuring the secure transportation of goods.

  • A strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service and representing ECS Project Logistics in a professional manner, building positive and long-lasting client relationships.

Role Responsibilities:

As Operations Coordinator, you will be based in the Perth Local Area and be responsible for the following:

  • Efficiently plan and coordinate daily transport and servicing activities, considering client requirements, timelines, and resource availability.

  • Optimise fleet utilisation to maximise efficiency and productivity, while ensuring on-time pick-ups, deliveries, and services.

  • Manage internal and external costs and rates, monitoring expenses and negotiating favourable terms to maintain profitability.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, addressing their inquiries and concerns promptly, and providing regular updates on shipment status and progress.

  • Assist in managing vehicle compliance, servicing, and repairs, ensuring our fleet is in optimal condition for safe and reliable operations.

  • Oversee load outs and vessel discharges.

  • Ensure compliance with fatigue management, load restraint requirements, and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations, adhering to relevant regulations and promoting a culture of safety.

  • Arrange the conduct of transportation activities appropriate for different product types, considering their unique handling and storage requirements.

  • Ensure all necessary paperwork, including documentation, permits, and reports, is completed accurately and submitted on time, maintaining comprehensive records.

  • Handle job registration and coordination from start to finish, ensuring all tasks are executed smoothly and efficiently.

  • Contribute to meeting strict KPI deadlines of the WA Branch, emphasising safety and quality without compromising on service excellence. 

Additional Responsibilities:

In addition to the core responsibilities, the Operations Coordinator may also be involved in:

  • Conducting regular performance reviews of transport providers and suppliers, ensuring compliance with agreed-upon service levels and quality standards.

  • Participating in the development and implementation of logistics strategies, identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.

  • Assisting with the training and development of other team members, sharing expertise and best practices to enhance skills and knowledge.

  • Monitoring industry trends and implementing best practices to enhance logistics operations, staying informed about advancements in technology and processes.

  • Contributing to process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and productivity, actively seeking opportunities for optimisation.

Requirements:

To be considered for the role of Operations Coordinator, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A current Australian Driver’s Licence, enabling you to operate vehicles as required.

  • Good working knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations, Fatigue Management, and Load Restraint, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

  • Proven ability to build strong internal and external relationships, fostering collaboration and effective communication.

  • Intermediate MS Office skills, enabling you to efficiently manage data, generate reports, and analyse information.

  • Knowledge of CargoWise (preferred), demonstrating familiarity with logistics software and systems commonly used in the industry.

  • A satisfactory National Police Check, ensuring you meet the necessary security requirements for the position.

  • Australian work rights, enabling you to work legally in Australia.

  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical examination, including being tested for drugs and alcohol, ensuring you are fit for the role.
