Imtrade CropScience is seeking a Market Development Agronomist based in Western Australia to strengthen our technical presence and help shape the development, extension and adoption of our core crop protection products and pipeline.
This is a customer-facing technical role for someone who enjoys being in the field, building confidence in products, translating trial outcomes into practical insights and working closely with growers, agronomists and commercial teams.

Manufacturing facility based in Kwinana, WA, we combine local R&D, formulation, manufacturing and commercial capability to deliver crop protection solutions tailored to Australian farming systems. Our Kwinana manufacturing site includes an industry-leading, GLP-recognised laboratory and a state-of-the-art field research centre. Reporting to the National Market Development Manager, you will lead technical extension, market development and product support activities across Western Australia and support the South Australian market development strategy.
The role focuses primarily on broadacre cropping systems, while also providing exposure to other product areas aligned with Imtrade’s expanding pipeline.
You will work closely with internal commercial and R&D teams, external trial contractors, retail agronomists, independent consultants, grower groups, key growers and other industry stakeholders across WA.
While the role does not carry direct sales accountability, it plays an important part in commercial success through technical influence, field validation, product positioning, market insight and customer confidence.
What you'll be doing· Acting as one of Imtrade's key technical market development contacts.
· Delivering field-based extension, product demonstrations, technical presentations and field days.
· Supporting the development and adoption of Imtrade’s core products and pipeline products.
· Establishing, assessing and reporting market development and demonstration trials.
· Coordinating trial activity with contractors, retailers, consultants, agronomists and grower collaborators.
· Assisting with product enquiries and product performance investigations where required.
· Preparing technical notes, trial summaries, presentations and customer-facing support material.
· Gathering market intelligence on seasonal conditions, product performance, competitor activity and emerging customer needs.
· Working with Imtrade's R&D team to co-locate trial sites and improve efficiency between research, development and commercial extension.
· Supporting responsible product stewardship and ensuring technical communication is consistent with registered label directions and approved product claims.
About youYou will bring practical agricultural experience, strong agronomic credibility and the ability to communicate technical information clearly and confidently to growers, agronomists and commercial stakeholders.
You may come from a background in:
· retail agronomy,
· research agronomy,
· crop protection,
· market development,
· technical extension,
· product development,
· grower group extension, or
· field-based agricultural R&D.
Established WA networks will be highly regarded, but we will also consider candidates at different experience levels who can demonstrate strong agricultural capability, technical curiosity and the ability to build trusted relationships with customers.
Skills and experience· Degree in Agricultural Science, Agronomy or related discipline.
· 3-5+ years’ experience in broadacre cropping systems, particularly in WA, with experience in R&D, market development, technical extension or applied agronomy.
· Sound understanding of crop protection products and practical product positioning.
· Current driver's licence.
· Ability to travel regionally across WA, with seasonal peak travel and occasional interstate travel.
· Ability to work autonomously and manage competing seasonal priorities.
· Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
Preferred· Established networks across WA agriculture.
· Experience establishing, assessing and reporting field trials, with an understanding of trial design and statistical interpretation.
· Experience using ARM, Excel, R, CRM platforms, Power BI or similar tools.
· Chemical user accreditation.
Location and travelThe role is flexible within Western Australia. If Perth-based, work from Imtrade's Kwinana office will be expected for office days. If regionally based, periodic travel to the Kwinana office will be required.
The role will involve approximately 30–50% regional travel, with seasonal peaks and occasional interstate travel.
