The WA Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving commercial growth through the development of new business and the expansion of key accounts, with a particular focus on penetrating the WA mining and heavy industry sectors. The role combines technical, solution-based selling with high autonomy to build relationships, identify operational challenges, and position ITW's products as performance-enhancing solutions.

Client Details

ITW Fluids and Polymers is a division of Illinois Tool Works, focused on the delivery of high-performance adhesives, sealants, and polymer solutions with applications across a variety of industries such as mining, heavy industrial, and manufacturing. The business is focused on increasing equipment reliability and minimising downtime, particularly within harsh and demanding operating environments. This capability has driven a strategic focus on expansion within Australia, with Western Australia identified as a key growth market.

Description

The responsibilities of the role will include but will not be limited to the following:

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities with mining operators, EPCMs, and tier-two contractors, positioning ITW Fluids & Polymers as a trusted solutions partner and expanding presence across key sites and projects.
  • Engage directly with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to understand on-site challenges (asset reliability, downtime, wear protection), and tailor ITW's fluids, lubricants, and polymers to deliver measurable performance improvements.
  • Lead activity from targeted prospecting and industry networking through to technical trials, tender submissions, and commercial close, building a robust pipeline while establishing long-term, high-value partnerships within WA's mining sector both directly and through channel partners.

Profile

The successful candidate will demonstrate the below criteria:

  • Previous experience and the ability to formulate and action a new business plan that capitalises on current mining projects; live/relevant examples within mining would be highly regarded.
  • Well-established relationships with Tier 1/2 miners and EPCM contractors across key WA regions (Pilbara, Goldfields), with direct access to decision-makers.
  • The ability to demonstrate sales resilience particularly around new market penetration.

Job Offer

The role offers a unique opportunity to join a global, market-leading organisation whilst operating with the autonomy and agility of a decentralised business in WA. The current WA territory is undefined and therefore can be driven by the successful individual depending on their existing mining/heavy industrial networks. Encompassed within the role will include the following:

  • Fully maintained vehicle or car allowance depending on preference.
  • Commission (confirmed structure discussed with successful candidate).
  • Fully remote opportunity with travel to regional WA and SA once a month (no strict travel regime).
