Software product support with variety, flexibility and room to grow

Docmosis is a small Perth-based software company with over a decade of steady growth, developing and selling document generation products to customers around the world.

We are looking for a technically curious, customer-focused person to join our small team and become the first point of contact for customer support.

About the Role

The core of the role is technical support: understanding customer questions, investigating issues, explaining solutions clearly, and escalating more complex problems to our development team when needed.

Most support is handled via email, so the role would suit someone who enjoys problem-solving and communicates well in writing.

You will receive full training in our products and support process. As your product knowledge grows, the role can expand to include other useful work across the business, shaped around your strengths, interests and where you can add the most value.

About You

You will be able to demonstrate an interest in software or computers, with previous experience or knowledge of technical support, software development or working with SaaS applications.

You are looking for a varied role that changes from day to day, where you can: apply your analytical skills; manage your own workload with minimum supervision; and help customers achieve practical outcomes.

You will likely have some of the following:

  • An IT, computer science, software, engineering or related qualification, or equivalent practical experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, LibreOffice or document template systems

  • Coding exposure, such as Java, JavaScript, Python, PHP, .NET or shell scripting

  • Good written communication skills and the ability to explain technical ideas clearly

  • Experience installing, configuring or troubleshooting software

  • Comfort working with technical concepts such as APIs, JSON, XML, logs, templates or server environments

  • A genuine interest in helping customers solve problems

  • An eye for detail and a methodical approach to solving problems

Yes, we really mean that last point. The successful applicant is bound to have an eye for detail, for example: what subtle differences can you see between the bullet list above and the one below? Have some fun and tell us in your cover letter!

What We Offer

This position is:

  • Available as either part-time or full-time for the right person.

  • Based in our Osborne Park office, with public transport and nearby parking options.

  • Paid at a full-time equivalent salary from $75K to $85K plus super, depending on experience and capability.

  • Meaningful technical support work where careful thinking and clear communication help customers move forward with confidence.

  • Varied and challenging, with training and guidance from experienced software developers.

  • A friendly, supportive working environment with monthly team lunches.

  • Flexible, with options for hybrid work once you are settled into the role.

What Next

If this sounds interesting, please send your resume and include a short cover letter specific to this role.

The letter should have a maximum of one page and (hint!) should answer the question in italics above.  We will read your cover letter carefully, as clear written communication is an important part of this role.

Thanks for your interest.
