Role Description

The Head of Organisational Design & Development is an exciting opportunity in our People, Safety & Environment business unit based at our Perth Central Park office.

This role is accountable for shaping, implementing, and overseeing the organisation's learning and leadership development strategies. This role ensures that talent development initiatives align with Synergy’s mission, vision, and long-term goals while fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance.

Responsible for the growth and development of internal capability across the organisation through the design and development of innovative learning programs and development frameworks to help Synergy deliver on strategic imperatives.

Reporting to the Executive General Manager People Safety and Environment, this role works as a collaborative member of the senior leadership team and demonstrates a commitment to safety, customer and community centricity, and creating a high-performance culture where people thrive and seamlessly adapt to change.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and mentorship, ensuring alignment with strategy while empowering individuals to achieve their potential. (ELT and SLT only)
• Accountable for the creation of strategies relating to Synergy’s internal capability at all levels of the organisation.
• Review and renew Synergy Leadership competencies and design a leadership suite that supports strategy, increases accountability, safety and operational discipline at different stages of career.
• Oversee the viability of contemporary learning methods to meet different learning styles and modules of learning (all ability, preferences and digital tech usage) to align with business requirements and strategy.
• Lead teams to assess learning outcomes and continuously improve programs based on data-driven insights, consider optimal utilisation cost to run and the capability uplift return on investment.

What You Will Bring

• Tertiary qualifications in a related field such as organisational psychology, HR, adult learning, or business administration.
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in L&D, or related disciplines, with a proven track record of success at an executive level.
• 10+ years’ experience in the design, development delivery and evaluation of capability development initiatives or programs.
• Demonstrated knowledge of best practice in modern adult learning and learning tools and systems.
• Experience leading large-scale organisational development and culture transformation projects
