About the role
We are seeking a suitable Senior Employee Relations professional for this role in the Employee Relation Branch .
The Senior Employee Relations Officer provides professional consultancy and advice across the Department on complex workplace matters, including advice on grievances, equal opportunity, industrial relations, performance management, discipline, and redeployment, pursuant to relevant legislation, regulations, instruments, and standards.
This position will also provide a high-level consultancy and advisory service to senior leaders and people in Department on more complex human resource, employee relations and complaint matters.
This role reports to the Assistant Director Employee Relations.
About you
You’ll bring strong experience in employee relations with proven skills in managing a wide range of cases including performance, conduct, grievances and fitness for work matters. You understand employment legislation, awards and compliance requirements, and you’re comfortable giving clear, practical advice that helps leaders make confident, well‑reasoned decisions.
A strong team player with a demonstrated commitment to resolving workplace issues in a timely manner and to a high standard. You have a high standard and practice of ethical conduct and behaviour and will adhere to the Department’s Code of Conduct and other policies and procedures.
You will be required from time to time to travel within Western Australia by road or air for operational requirements. The occupant of this position will be required to visit correctional facilities as part of their role.
