Who are we?

Regional Early Education and Development Inc. (REED) is a not-for-profit organisation established to govern and manage a multi-site Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) service located throughout regional Western Australia.

REED currently employs approximately 166 employees across our services and is committed to providing high-quality early childhood education and care while supporting children, families, and communities throughout regional WA.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Human Resources Manager to join our team based in Welshpool.

The Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing and supporting the Human Resources Team while overseeing the delivery of operational and strategic HR services across the organisation.

This is a hands-on generalist HR management role responsible for overseeing recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, compliance, policy development, workers compensation, and workforce planning.

The successful applicant will work closely with senior management to ensure organisational compliance, support a positive workplace culture, and contribute to the ongoing development of HR systems and practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support the Human Resources Team.

  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding and offboarding processes.

  • Manage employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary matters, investigations, and performance management.

  • Support senior management with workforce planning and succession planning.

  • Develop, review and implement HR policies and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with Fair Work legislation, National Employment Standards, Awards, immigration requirements, and organisational policies.

  • Oversee personnel records, HRIS management, employee qualifications, licences, registrations, visas, and working rights.

  • Support organisational Work Health and Safety initiatives and compliance requirements.

  • Manage the annual performance review process.

  • Prepare HR reports and provide advice and recommendations to senior management.

  • Drive employee engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline.

  • Previous experience in a Human Resources Manager or Senior HR Generalist position.

  • Strong knowledge of the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards, Awards, and employment legislation.

  • Experience managing workplace investigations, performance management, and employee relations matters.

  • Strong people management, coaching, and staff development skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Advanced organisational and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.

  • Current Australian Driver's Licence.

  • Current Working with Children Check.

  • Current National Police Clearance.

  • Commitment to the philosophy of a Child Safe Organisation.

Desirable

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Early Childhood Education and Care sector.

  • Experience supporting a geographically dispersed workforce.

  • Experience managing visa compliance and international recruitment.

  • Understanding of workforce challenges within rural and regional communities.
