About the Role

Powerdata Group Consulting is seeking experienced Cyber Security Consultants to support a Federal Government client delivering critical cyber security and IRAP-aligned assurance activities.

This role will focus on strengthening cyber maturity, supporting compliance with ASD ISM, and contributing to IRAP assessment readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support IRAP assessment activities and security certification processes
  • Develop and review security artefacts (SRMP, SSP, TRA)
  • Conduct risk assessments aligned to ISM, PSPF, Essential Eight
  • Provide security advisory across cloud, infrastructure, and applications
  • Support audit remediation and compliance uplift initiatives
Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in cyber security GRC and assurance
  • Experience supporting IRAP assessments and security accreditation
  • Strong knowledge of ISM, PSPF, Essential Eight
  • Experience developing security artefacts and documentation
  • Exposure to cloud environments (Azure/AWS)

1. Cyber Security Consultant (IRAP / GRC)

Title: Cyber Security Consultant – IRAP / GRC (NV1 Required)

Location: Perth (onsite preferred) | Contract

Clearance: NV1 (mandatory)

 2. Penetration Tester / Offensive Security Specialist

Title: Penetration Tester (Application & Infrastructure) – NV1

Location: Perth (onsite preferred)

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Penetration Testers to deliver testing services across critical ICT systems and applications for a Federal Government environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform penetration testing (web, infrastructure, APIs)
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and reporting
  • Provide remediation recommendations and risk prioritisation
  • Work closely with security and infrastructure teams
  • Support continuous improvement of security posture
Skills & Experience

  • Hands-on penetration testing experience (OWASP Top 10, SANS)
  • Experience with tools such as Burp Suite, Nessus, Metasploit
  • Ability to produce detailed technical and executive reports
  • Experience in regulated or government environments preferred
Mandatory Requirements

  • NV1 clearance
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work onsite or hybrid

3. Cyber Security Incident Response / SOC Specialist

Title: Cyber Security Incident Responder (SOC / Threat Detection) – NV1

Location: Perth

About the Role

Join a dynamic team providing incident response and cyber threat management support to a Federal Government client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, investigate, and respond to cyber incidents
  • Monitor security alerts and triage threats
  • Perform root cause analysis and incident reporting
  • Support threat intelligence and vulnerability remediation
  • Work with SIEM and endpoint protection tools
Skills & Experience

  • Experience in SOC, incident response, or cyber operations
  • Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework
  • Hands-on with SIEM tools (e.g. Splunk, Sentinel)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Mandatory Requirements

  • NV1 clearance
  • Ability to respond to incidents under pressure

 4. Security Architect (Cloud / Enterprise)

Title: Security Architect – Cloud & Enterprise (NV1)

Location: Perth / Hybrid

About the Role

We are seeking a Security Architect to support the design and uplift of secure ICT environments aligned to Federal Government standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design secure architectures across cloud and on-prem environments
  • Provide security input into solution designs and projects
  • Align solutions to ISM, PSPF, Essential Eight
  • Support security strategy and roadmap development
Skills & Experience

  • Experience in enterprise or cloud security architecture
  • Strong knowledge of Azure/AWS security services
  • Experience working in Government or regulated environments
  • Ability to translate risk into technical controls
