MENTAL HEALTH THERAPY LEAD

Part-Time - 6 Days per Fortnight

Role Statement:

Abbotsford Private Hospital is committed to the provision of high standards of health care delivery and is continually striving to improve performance. The role of the Mental Health Therapy Lead is primarily responsible for the proactive management of the therapy unit under the scope of responsibility to ensure alignment with Abbotsford Private Hospital vision statement and the strategic direction of the hospital. The Therapy Lead will continually monitor and manage human and material resources within the therapy unit, and will monitor specific indicators to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. 

Essential Criteria 

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency

  • Minimum 5 years' clinical experience in mental health, with at least 3 years' experience in a leadership or management role.

  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication

  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and quality improvement

  • Demonstrate commitment to professional development

  • Computer literacy in Microsoft software.

  • Current professional registration and/or membership with AHPRA, PACFA, ACA or AASW

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience in the management of human and financial resources

Skills and Experience 

  • Demonstrated experience working with co-morbid and addictions mental health issues 

  • A team player with the ability to work autonomously

  • Excellent rapport building and communication skills

  • Sound computer literacy

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Therapy Services team to deliver high-quality patient care.

  • Oversee inpatient and day program therapy services.

  • Monitor service performance, patient outcomes and quality indicators.

  • Drive continuous quality improvement and accreditation activities.

  • Manage staffing, recruitment, performance and professional development.

  • Contribute to operational planning, budgeting and resource management.

  • Foster a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards and hospital policies.
