Who are we?

Our drive behind founding Potion Occupational Therapy was with a creative eye; to provide an accessible service that builds a connection with children, young people and their families.

Just like a potion is made up of many ingredients, we see every person as a unique blend of strengths and challenges. Our role is to be one supportive ingredient in a combination of ingredients that makes a person, them!

With the recent growth that our business has had, we are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our small business on a part-time basis.

 Why join us?

  • A relaxed, supportive culture with flexible workloads. We truly value a healthy career life flow.

  • Open to discussion on your part-time working hours. We’re happy to work with you to create a schedule that suits your life.

  • We don’t do KPIs - it’s not about the numbers. For us it’s about the quality and the care of our kids and families.

  • Direct mentoring from an OT with 10+ years of experience. We won’t throw you in the deep end, we will help you through those challenging sessions and tricky moments.

  • Opportunity to grow into a full-time role in the near future (if desired).

  • Provision of a new MacBook NEO (colour of your choice)

  • Pro rata $80,000 - $105,000 + Super + Bonus (experience dependent).

Roles and Responsibilities

As an Occupational Therapist, you will support children and young people to build independence in everyday life, with a strong focus on social, emotional and behavioural development.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and manage your own caseload of children and adolescents (birth–18 years), providing therapy in our Bibra Lake clinic and within the community (homes, schools, daycares etc.).

  • Work with a diverse range of abilities, with a strong focus on supporting children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

  • Deliver creative, evidence-based occupational therapy interventions and resources tailored to each child.

  • Support clients and families on the NDIS system, and associated reporting requested.

  • Provide practical strategies and recommendations to support social, emotional and behavioural development, this includes parent support meetings.

  • Maintain clear, accurate clinical documentation and complete reports as required.

  • Conduct Functional Capacity Assessments (FCA) and prepare comprehensive reports.

  • Contribute and facilitate fun and engaging school holiday group programs.

What we are looking for:

  • Most importantly - you enjoy having fun at work and are excited to be part of a small, close-knit team that values kindness, connection, and a positive workplace culture.

  • You’re passionate about working with children and their families and building meaningful, long-term relationships.

  • You are confident in your ability to work independently.

  • You bring strong communication skills and sound clinical reasoning to your practice (it’s not a worry if you don’t always have the answers, that’s what a team is for and you’d be confident to lean on us to guide you).

  • You have a passion for helping young people improve independence and wellbeing and look to support their parents along the way.

  • You are looking to join a small but experienced team consisting of an Senior Occupational Therapist and Occupational Therapy Assistant, who prioritise quality care and building trusted relationships.

Some Additional Requirements:

  • 2 + years of relevant working experience as an Occupational Therapist

  • Ideally some experience within the paediatric scope of practice (however not firm)

  • Current AHPRA registration

  • Working with Children Check (WWC)

  • NDIS Workers Screening check / Criminal History Check

  • Current Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance

  • Driver’s License (some mobile work will be involved)
