Join a growing specialist surgical practice and play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care.

We are seeking a highly organised and professional Medical Receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis, with the opportunity for increased hours and responsibilities as the practice continues to grow.

As the first point of contact for our patients and a key support person to our specialist surgeons, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice while providing an outstanding patient experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality administrative support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing specialist consultation appointments and patient bookings.

  • Responding to patient enquiries via phone and email in a professional and timely manner.

  • Coordinating theatre bookings and managing both regular and ad-hoc operating lists across multiple hospitals.

  • Obtaining and processing required documentation, approvals, and paperwork from patients, employers, insurers, and healthcare providers.

  • Processing invoices and managing patient, employer, and insurer payments.

  • Reviewing incoming correspondence and directing information to the appropriate team members.

  • Preparing professional correspondence on behalf of specialist surgeons, including consultation letters and referrals.

  • Liaising with allied health professionals, hospitals, and external stakeholders to coordinate patient care.

  • Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring confidentiality at all times.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Previous experience in specialist medical administration, medical reception, or healthcare administration (highly desirable).

  • A qualification in medical, health, or allied health sciences will be highly regarded.

  • Exceptional organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

  • A professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach.

  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Genie software (desirable).
