The role
This is a shift-based position requiring availability across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays, to support the hotel’s 24-hour operations.
The Maintenance Person is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and safe operation of the hotel’s facilities, plant, and equipment. The role requires a good foundation in technical skills, along with effective communication and a commitment to delivering excellent guest service.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, your responsibilities will include:
Perform repairs and maintenance to the hotel’s physical building structure, including minor installation works as required.
Carry out general maintenance and routine preventive maintenance checks across guest rooms, public areas, and operational systems.
Ensure fire safety systems and all engineering features are functioning efficiently and in compliance with safety standards.
Respond promptly and professionally to guest maintenance requests in rooms and common areas.
Maintain and clean stormwater drains, gutters, and engineering/service areas.
Assist with minor painting, grouting, silicone sealing, and other general touch-ups to maintain presentation standards.
About You
Previous experience in a hotel or similar maintenance environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong technical and troubleshooting abilities.
A proactive approach to maintenance and safety.
