The Role

The Road Maintenance Worker works as a member within the Town’s Roads Maintenance crew.  As a crew member, they provide general construction and maintenance services on roads, footpaths, lanes, verges, islands, carparks, crossovers, drainage, signs, traffic control, setting out, rubbish removal and clean-ups.


Selection Criteria

  • Experience and knowledge in undertaking road construction and maintenance including other associated road reserve infrastructure activities.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of safe operation and user maintenance of relevant plant and equipment including hand tools.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to safe working practices in a maintenance and operations environment
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills and numeracy skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and with limited direction.
  • Demonstrate a good customer service ethos.

Eligibility

  • Right to work in Australia (birth certificate, current passport or current visa)
  • Valid Driver's Licence
  • Basic Worksite Traffic Management Certificate
  • Current First Aid Qualification
  • MR Class Drivers Licence or greater (must be obtained within 6 months of commencement). 
  • Safety Awareness Training Certificate (White Card or Blue Card)
