Secondary School Teacher of Science, Commencing Term 1 2027, Permanent Full-Time (1.0 FTE)

We are seeking a passionate Secondary School Science Teacher (Chemistry/Physics) to join our innovative Science Department commencing from Term 1, 2027. This role is being offered as a permanent, full-time opportunity. 

The successful candidate will have excellent content knowledge and a demonstrated background in teaching in their specialist subject across years 7 to 12, including ATAR.  

As part of our Strategic Direction, we aim to provide our girls with ‘inspirational student experiences’ where our students are at the centre of all we do. As a teacher at Penrhos, you will play a significant role in planning, delivering and reflecting on the learning experiences in your classroom as well as providing a safe, supportive and respectful environment that is essential for positive student wellbeing. We are inspired by engaging, challenging and empowering our students to be the best learners they can be.

The successful applicants will have:

  • A Bachelor of Education or a degree qualification supported by a Masters in Education, or Post Graduate Diploma of Education
  • Current TRBWA Membership including a Working with Children card (WWC)
  • Commitment to the College’s Core Shared values of Respect, Integrity, Empathy, Knowledge, Growth and Synergy
  • Commitment to the safeguarding of students and providing a safe, supportive and respectful learning environment. 

The following essential criteria must be addressed with evidence in your cover letter: 

  • Ability to employ engaging, phase appropriate delivery methods in teaching Secondary School Science in Year 7 to 12. 
  • Significant demonstrated excellence in teaching Chemistry/Physics based on the Western Australian Curriculum, and Year 11 and/or 12 ATAR. 
  • Ability to integrate technology into curriculum delivery to provide opportunity for students to develop 21st Century Skills.
  • An academic record which demonstrates an ability to foster personal best and the opportunity to achieve academic excellence.
  • A willingness and ability to contribute to the co-curricular STEM programs that run at the College.
