Youth Focus is looking for a Vocational Specialist to join our dynamic Burswood team - Located on Whadjuk Noongar Country.

About the Role

The Vocational Specialist supports young people into work, training, or education through the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model, providing practical support and building strong relationships with employers, training providers, and clinical teams. Key responsibilities include:

  • Support a small caseload of up to 20 young people ensuring personalised vocational support, including job search and ongoing placement assistance in alignment with the IPS model
  • Support sustainable and meaningful employment outcomes through continuous engagement and monitoring, including post placement support
  • Work face-to-face in the community, meeting clients and stakeholders in their everyday environments
  • Collaborate and maintain relationships with employers, training organisations and clinical teams to integrate and create opportunities for young people
  • Report and provide the necessary data for internal and external reporting
About You

To be considered for this position, applicants will have:

  • Knowledge of disability and employment legislation and community services across government and non-government sectors
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary teams
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by young people in Australia, with the ability to engage and support their wellbeing
  • Highly organised, with strong time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions in community settings
  • High level of professionalism, including confidentiality and discretion
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline will be highly regarded
  • A current Driver's Licence is essential and ability to travel (predominately North of the river)
