We are looking for a designer who understands the "why" behind the fit and not just the "look" - someone who lives and breathes the culture. As a Fashion Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the direction and aesthetics of our clothing collections.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is an exciting opportunity to join Jarheads Apparel as a Fashion Designer. As our Fashion Designer, you will own the entire lifecycle of a garment. From the first spark of an idea to the moment the final production piece hits the rack, you are the gatekeeper of quality and style.

You will be setting the entire visual DNA and creative direction for the brand from day one including the designing process from concept to creation, transforming ideas into sketches and artwork and creating detailed tech packs. You will be responsible for quality checking samples to ensure that the final production matches the initial vision and meets the highest standards.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Creative Strategy: Design and develop initial concept creation, mood boards, artwork, sketches, seasonal streetwear collections and silhouettes.

• Trend Analysis: Research and analyze streetwear trends in music, sports and fashion to set our design direction.

• Technical Execution: Prepare detailed tech packs, including cut-and-sew information, color specs, print/pattern details, fitting and construction details and 3D CAD drawings.

• Expert Knowledge: Demonstrate a strong understanding of garment construction, stitching, embroidery, clothing techniques, fabric behavior, design elements and manufacturing process.

• Stakeholder Communication: Maintain transparent and clear communication with stakeholders through every stage, from designing to bulk production.

• End-to-End Execution: Own the ability to take an idea and turn it into a finished market-ready product.

• Iteration: Refine repeated designs and innovate on core staples.

ABOUT YOU

• Experience: Strong knowledge and hands on experience in fashion design preferably within men's streetwear with the ability to interpret trends, develop seasonal collections and maintain brand consistency.

• Qualification: A tertiary qualification in Fashion Design or a relevant discipline.

• Technical Skills: Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and relevant design software's. Able to create high-quality CAD's and tech packs from scratch.

• Knowledge Base: Familiar with historic and current market trends. Strong understanding of fabric behavior (textures, weights and durability).

• Passion: Genuinely passionate about streetwear clothing and out to make a name for themselves.
