About the Company

Multiplex is one of Australia's most respected tier-1 contractors, with a track record of delivering landmark built environment projects across the country and internationally. Known for technical excellence, strong delivery culture and a commitment to developing great people, Multiplex operates at the leading edge of complex construction delivery.

In Queensland, Multiplex is poised to deliver one of the most significant health projects in the state, We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to deliver this mega-project that will define the region's healthcare landscape for decades to come.

About the Role

As Construction Manager, you will be part of the Queensland Regional Executive Group. You will be the driving force behind delivery excellence on this project.  This is a large-scale, technically complex build that demands hands-on leadership and broad organisational oversight.

Working alongside the Project Director who manages design, planning and client interface, the Construction Manager owns construction delivery end-to-end: buildability, methodology, program, quality, safety, commercial outcomes, IR, and operational discipline.

You'll have direct client interface with Queensland Health and be the senior delivery voice on site and in the boardroom.

This role is also a people leadership mandate. You will be accountable for the culture, capability and performance of the entire project team.  You will be ensuring every people manager is meeting their leadership accountabilities and that the site operates as a high-performing, engaged and values-driven environment.

Key responsibilities Include

  • Leading technical and operational delivery on a Queensland Hospital mega-project;
  • Driving buildability, program discipline, risk management, quality and safety outcomes;
  • Owning people and culture across the project. You will be setting the standard and holding the line;
  • Managing senior stakeholder relationships including Queensland Health, subcontractors, unions, consultants and regulators;
  • Developing Project Managers and site leaders; building the next generation of Multiplex talent; and
  • Maintaining commercial discipline in a competitive subcontractor market.
About You

You are a technically strong construction leader who has delivered complex projects at scale and who knows how to build and sustain a high-performance culture across large, complex teams.

You bring deep expertise in Australian construction delivery and you are equally at home in the detail as you are leading from the front.

You will Bring

  • 15+ years in construction with significant time at Senior PM, Project Director or Construction Manager level on large, complex projects in Australia;
  • Proven technical depth in buildability, methodology, program and risk on major commercial, institutional, health or mixed-use builds;
  • A strong track record of leading and developing large project teams, with demonstrable impact on culture, engagement and capability;
  • The ability to hold a high-performance culture across a mega-project environment: setting expectations, developing people managers, and modelling values-led leadership;
  • Commercial acumen and the composure to navigate stakeholder complexity, including senior client relationships, union engagement and subcontractor performance;
  • Exceptional communication and conflict-management skills; a leader others want to follow; and
  • Health sector experience is advantageous but not essential. We are equally interested in leaders who have delivered excellence on other major, complex builds.
This is a rare opportunity to take the reins on a landmark Queensland project, shape a team and a culture from the ground up, and step into one of the most significant construction leadership roles available in the market today.
