About the role
WA Smart Services Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Electrician to join our dynamic team in Perth, WA. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction projects across the Perth metropolitan area. As a Construction Electrician, you will play a crucial role in the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems on construction sites, ensuring all work meets relevant safety standards and building codes. This position is integral to our company's reputation for delivering high-quality electrical solutions on time and within budget.
Key responsibilities
Installing, testing, and commissioning electrical systems and components on construction sites in accordance with plans, specifications, and Australian electrical standards
Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation to ensure accurate installation
Safely handling and positioning electrical equipment, cables, conduits, and switchboards
Performing diagnostic tests on electrical systems using appropriate testing equipment to ensure compliance and safety
Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other trades to coordinate electrical work and meet project timelines
Maintaining accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any issues encountered
Adhering to all workplace health and safety requirements, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and following site safety protocols
Troubleshooting electrical faults and implementing corrective solutions
Mentoring and supporting apprentices and junior electricians where applicable
What we're looking for
A valid electrical licence recognised in Western Australia (Restricted or Unrestricted Electrician's Licence preferred)
A minimum of 3–5 years' experience working as an electrician in the construction industry
Proven proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and technical specifications
Strong knowledge of Australian electrical standards, including AS/NZS 3000 and relevant building codes
Competency in using electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, insulation testers, and earth-loop testers
A current First Aid certificate and Working at Heights certification (or willingness to obtain)
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to various construction sites across Perth
A valid driver's licence and a clean driving record
Physical fitness to perform manual labour and work in various weather conditions
