Pre-Construction Manager

The Opportunity

Based in our Perth Head Office, this role sits at within our new business strategy and conversion team, leading the front end of projects and positioning Built to secure and deliver high quality work. You’ll partner closely with estimating, design and delivery teams, as well as clients and consultants, to shape how projects come to life.

In this role, you will:

• Lead end to end tendering and pre-construction activities, ensuring projects are commercially sound and strategically aligned
• Develop winning bid strategies, working closely with estimating teams to refine pricing and improve competitiveness
• Engage directly with clients, consultants and stakeholders to build relationships, shape solutions and secure new opportunities
• Identify risks early and implement smart construction methodologies to strengthen project viability and delivery outcomes
• Contribute to commercial strategies, including value engineering and contract negotiations, to achieve the best project outcomes

Success in this role is demonstrated by consistently securing work aligned to Built’s strengths - projects that are well planned, commercially sound, and positioned for successful delivery.

What we are looking for

We’re seeking someone with strong commercial acumen, proven leadership capability, and a demonstrated track record of successfully winning work.

You will bring:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction, Engineering or a related discipline
• Proven experience in pre-construction, construction management or senior project leadership roles
• A track record of leading successful tenders and securing major projects
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, pricing strategies and contract negotiation
• The ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams through the bid phase
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and commercial acumen, with a client focused mindset
