About the role
Volunteering WA is seeking an experienced and values-driven Executive Manager to Strategy and Development to join our Executive Team and help shape the future of volunteering across Western Australia.
As Executive Manager to Strategy and Development, you will play a key leadership role in driving Volunteering WA’s strategic priorities, partnerships and growth initiatives.
Working closely with the CEO, you will lead strategic engagement initiatives across corporate volunteering, partnerships, marketing and communications — helping connect people, organisations and communities through meaningful volunteering opportunities.
Responsibilities
You will:
Lead strategic development and organisational growth initiatives
Build and strengthen partnerships across corporate, government and philanthropic sectors
Drive stakeholder engagement, marketing and communications initiatives
Identify new funding and revenue diversification opportunities
Support executive leadership, organisational planning and governance activities
Lead and mentor high-performing engagement and corporate volunteering teams
Represent Volunteering WA across sector forums, events and external engagements
This role is ideal for a senior leader who combines strategic thinking with strong relationship management and a passion for community impact.
About you
You are a collaborative and influential leader with experience driving strategic initiatives, partnerships and organisational growth within the not-for-profit, community or corporate sectors.
You will bring: Demonstrated senior leadership and strategic management experience
Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership development skills
Experience leading teams and fostering a positive workplace culture
Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building abilities
Experience in business development, program management and operational leadership
Understanding of governance frameworks and organisational accountability
A passion for strengthening communities and creating meaningful impact
Selection Criteria
Essential
Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related field
Demonstrated skills in senior leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making
Demonstrated experience in senior management, stakeholder engagement, partnerships and business development
Strong communication, relationship-building, influencing and stakeholder skills, including the ability to represent the organisation at all levels
High level of expertise in public speaking and presentations, with an ability to deliver clear and impactful communications across a wide range of audiences
Demonstrated experience in operations and program management, including report and submissions writing, risk and performance management and achieving targets, KPIs and budgets
Proficient understanding of not-for-profit governance frameworks and experience supporting effective board and organisational governance practices
High level team management skills including the ability to supervise, coach and mentor, and lead a diverse team
Demonstrated ability to lead and contribute to enterprise-wide organisational goals and strategic objectives
Competence in the use of Microsoft Office suite and databases/CRMs
Special Requirements
Willing to travel regularly within the Perth Metro area and available to travel to regional and interstate areas on occasion
Willing to work outside of office hours when reasonably required
A current and valid WA driver’s licence
