FINANCE OFFICERPosition DetailsPadbury Catholic Primary School is a triple stream school founded in the Mercy tradition. The school caters for 504 students in a co-educational setting from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6.

Padbury Catholic Primary School boasts committed staff who work together in a collaborative and high trust environment. Reporting to the Principal, the Finance Officer is primarily responsible for Family Billing and Collection of School Fees and Payroll duties using MyHR and AOS systems. They must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and excellent communication and organisational skills, respecting confidentiality requirements and maintaining strong relationships with leadership, staff and the parent community.

Working hours are Monday – Friday, 8.00am until 4.00pm, 48 weeks and 4 weeks holidays. Accounts Receivable

  • Responsible for set up, processing and generating Family/Student fees, concessions, payment schedules.
  • Process fee receipts on a daily basis including posting all BPAY, DD and EFT transactions to the AOS accounting system and reconciling those bank accounts daily.
  • First point of contact for all fee related enquiries.
  • Manage School Fee Collection in line with CEWA and School policy including record keeping of all meetings, conversations and correspoindence with families and regular follow up with families if there has been a missed payment.
  • Report regularly to Principal regarding Family accounts.

Payroll

  • Accurately complete and forward all payroll forms for school based staff and relief staff.
  • Ensure extra hours worked by school based staff and relief staff are entered in MyHR.
  • Prepare Staff contracts as directed by Principal.
  • Maintain MyHR system with staff updates.
  • Other duties, as requested by the Principal and/or Leadership Team.
  • Ensure banking is undertaken in an appropriate manner.

Selection CriteriaA strong commitment to Catholic Education Extensive experience in bookkeepingExperience in financial procedures including accounts receivable, accounts payable, preparation of Business Activity Statements, and general ledger processing. Sound knowledge and demonstrated ability of relevant accrual accounting practices.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Advanced computer skills and knowledge including experience in financial programs, Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet Applications.

OTHER ATTRIBUTES REQUIREDStrong organisational skills and ability to manage time effectively.  Ability to prioritise work Friendly and approachable manner Ability to work as part of a team whilst still accepting responsibility for your own tasks. Qualifications RequiredPrevious experience in Finance or Administration within CEWA schools.
