The Role
The Key Account Manager leads technical B2B sales, account management and commercial contract oversight for a defined mining customer portfolio. The role drives revenue, margin and long‑term customer value by managing key accounts, strengthening end‑user and partner relationships, developing opportunities, negotiating contracts and preparing value propositions. The position also captures customer feedback to support product development and may provide technical support, including training, troubleshooting, field service and installation support.
What You’ll Do
The Key Account Manager is responsible for:
Conduct regular on-site customer and prospect engagement in line with the engagement schedule, with significant field activity.
Achieve sales, margin and strategic account targets (monthly, quarterly, annual).
Develop and execute account strategies aligned to business priorities and growth opportunities.
Manage end-to-end commercial contracts, including negotiation, variations, renewals and approvals.
Develop and execute distributor, reseller and partner agreements.
Deliver clear, customer-specific value propositions demonstrating operational, technical and commercial value.
Capture and share customer insights to support product improvement and development.
Provide technical support, including training, troubleshooting and application guidance.
Interpret technical drawings/specifications and translate customer requirements to engineering and operations.
The Team
Reporting to the Head of Account Management, the Key Account Manager works closely with customers and major contractors, the Sales & Marketing team, the Operations & Engineering team, distributors, resellers and preferred partners and external consultants, industry associations and regulatory bodies.
What We’re Looking For
The successful candidate should demonstrate the following characteristics:
Essential
Current C Class and/or HR License.
Current passport or ability to obtain and maintain a passport.
Mining B2B sales experience.
Proven experience in technical sales, key account management or a similar customer-facing commercial role within industrial markets, with strong exposure to mining customers.
Demonstrated experience in commercial negotiations, pricing structures and contract review with business customers.
Experience working with end-user customers and complex industrial buying environments.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical documents including drawings, specifications and standards, and to communicate these effectively to internal teams.
Demonstrated ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
Strong organisational skills, time management, record keeping and attention to detail.
Desirable
Minesite operations or maintenance experience with underground operations.
Experience in military, heavy industrial and civil sectors.
Experience with pumps, fixed plant, heavy plant, mineral processing or related mechanical systems
Project management experience, including customer trials, implementation activities or cross-functional commercial projects
Experience contributing to product development, product enhancement or customer-led solution improvement
Mechanical engineering, mechanical trade or related technical background connected to fixed plant, heavy plant or mineral processing
Australian recognised trade certificate, technical qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant mechanical or industrial field

An annual salary range of $95,000 - $130,000.
