Simm Group is a privately owned company encompassing a large and diverse number of businesses and assets throughout Western Australia and overseas. The core businesses include: Northfleet (the largest fleet provider in the Pilbara), Running with Thieves (a boutique brewery and distillery) located in Fremantle, Port Hedland and Henderson, Salt and Oak (a refined whisky bar and coastal eatery) in Perth, Tanah Mympi (A luxury private island resort) located in Indonesia, as well as various motor vehicle, real estate and other asset holdings.

Chief Financial Officer

The CFO will oversee finance, reporting, compliance, commercial performance, strategy and operational controls while working with the Directors to drive strategic performance. We are looking for a hands-on executive leader who can build structure, drive accountability, improve financial discipline, and support strategic growth initiatives across a complex multi-entity group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall financial strategy and performance of the group

  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management, and financial planning

  • Improve financial reporting accuracy, timeliness, and visibility across entities

  • Strengthen governance, internal controls, and risk management frameworks

  • Partner with operational leaders to improve commercial outcomes and accountability

  • Oversee tax, audit, payroll tax, BAS, statutory reporting, and regulatory obligations

  • Manage relationships with banks, auditors, advisors, and key external stakeholders

  • Support acquisitions, integrations, restructures, and growth projects

  • Build and mentor a high-performing finance function

  • Deliver high-level reporting and strategic insights to Directors

About You

  • Proven CFO or senior finance leadership experience within a multi-entity organisation

  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance strategy and execution

  • Experience in mining, construction, transport and hospitality is highly regarded

  • Demonstrated success improving systems, controls, reporting, and organisational performance

  • Strong leadership capability with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels

  • Comfortable operating in entrepreneurial and fast-paced environments

  • CPA/CA qualified with strong technical finance capability

  • Experience with acquisitions, restructures, and scaling businesses preferred
