We are seeking a highly motivated, proactive Part-time Accountant to join our close-knit team. This flexible role (3 days per week) is perfect for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative, "all-hands-on-deck" environment. Reporting to the CFO, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our financial ecosystem, balancing daily transactional tasks with high-level reporting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including journals, reconciliations, schedules and reporting.
Prepare monthly financial reports for CFO review, including monthly variance analysis.
Oversee the work of the Accounts Officer, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
Support financial reporting obligations related to grants and funding agreements.
Assist with the preparation of the annual budget, in conjunction with the CFO.
Prepare & lodge BAS & IAS statements, maintain fixed asset register and ensure strict financial compliance.
Assist with external audits and manage insurance renewals.
End-to-end payroll processing and backup support for accounts payable and receivable.
Support the broader finance and HR administrative functions to ensure smooth organisational operations.
About You
Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance; CA/CPA qualified or actively studying towards it.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar accounting role (NFP experience is advantageous, but not essential)
Technical Skills: Advanced Excel capabilities; proficiency in MYOB is preferred but not essential.
Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
