About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Officer/Clerk to join our team on a full-time basis at our Parkwood, WA 6147 location. This is a crucial position within our administrative and financial operations, providing essential support to ensure accurate financial record-keeping and seamless day-to-day accounting functions. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our financial systems and supporting the broader finance and administrative team.

What you'll be doing

1. Processing and recording financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner

2. Maintaining and reconciling accounts, ledgers, and financial records

3. Preparing invoices, receipts, and other financial documentation

4. Performing bank reconciliations and managing cash handling procedures

5. Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

6. Assisting with payroll administration and employee record management

7. Filing and organising financial documents and records in accordance with company procedures

8. Responding to queries from internal departments and external stakeholders regarding accounts and financial matters

9. Utilising accounting software and systems to record and report on financial data

10. Assisting with month-end and year-end financial closing processes

11. Supporting the preparation of financial reports and statements as required

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience working as an Accounts Officer, Clerk, or in a similar financial administration role

2. Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

3. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy when handling financial data

4. Solid understanding of accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and financial processes

5. Demonstrated capability in performing reconciliations and identifying discrepancies

6. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively

7. Professional communication skills, both written and verbal

8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment

9. Reliability and discretion in handling confidential financial information

10. Relevant qualifications such as a Certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Finance, or equivalent experience

11. Desirable: experience with payroll processing and knowledge of accounting standards and compliance requirements
