About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Management Accountant to join our Finance department on a permanent full-time basis.  This role is based in Belmont and offers 37.5 hours per week. Reporting to the Finance Manager - Community, you will be responsible for taking a lead role in the management of our local accounting function. The Senior Management Accountant will work closely with the executive team and the senior management team to support the strategic decision-making process of the business. This opportunity would be suited to a commercially savvy and experienced management accountant wanting to join an established brand name.

What You’ll Do:

  • Month end close journals and participation in variance analysis to ensure reasonableness of financials by Working Day 4
  • Partner with senior leaders, Heads of Department, and the Executive Team to review financial performance, identify emerging trends, assess risks and opportunities, and ensure achievement of operational and financial targets.
  • Prepare and present insightful financial reports and analysis to support decision-making, providing business units with clear visibility of performance against budget, forecast, and strategic objectives.
  • Facilitate regular finance review meetings with stakeholders, driving accountability for financial outcomes and ensuring agreed actions are completed within required timeframes.
  • Lead the development of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-term financial plans in collaboration with operational leaders.
  • Review, develop, and challenge business cases, investment proposals, and financial models to support strategic initiatives, capital expenditure, and organisational growth.
  • Develop financial models and provide financial input into tenders, commercial proposals, contract reviews, and other key business initiatives to support sound commercial outcomes.

What You’ll Need:

  • CPA or CA qualified
  • 2-3 years post graduate experience, preferably with significant time in a management/corporate accounting environment
  • Demonstrated experience with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Highly developed understanding of accounting principles and ability to apply in a complex environment
  • Experience preparing and supporting tender submissions, including financial modelling, pricing, and commercial analysis, is desirable.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modelling skills
