The RoleThe school Accountant will be involved in the preparation and supervision of all aspects of the schools' day-to-day financial operations and provide information, advice and guidance on matters relating to finance.
The successful candidate will work a minimum of 3 days per week in the office, at a FTE ratio of 0.4 a total of 15 hours per week. This may be varied at times during the year in consultation with the Business Manager.
Key Role Responsibilities include (but not limited to):Oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance function, including supervision of accounts payable, receivable and asset management processes.
Supervise and review the fortnightly payroll process to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Prepare accurate monthly financial reports, including income and expenditure, balance sheet, cash flow, and budget comparisons, providing analysis and commentary where required.
Act as the primary liaison for the annual audit process, working closely with auditors and relevant authorities to ensure compliance and timely completion.
Provide financial data and support for statutory reporting and compliance requirements, including government financial submissions.
Support the Business Manager in financial planning, including contributing to budget development and long-term financial strategy.
Maintain a sound understanding of capital projects, funding arrangements, and grant or loan applications associated with school development.
Contribute to team leadership and development, including participation in finance meetings and staff performance processes.
Demonstrate flexibility to support additional duties as required within the finance function.
Tertiary qualification in Accounting.
CPA/CA (or nearing completion).
Previous experience in a school would be an advantage.
Previous experience with Synergetic would be an advantage.
