Reporting to the Accounting Manager, based in our Perth branch at Canning Vale, the Accounts Receivable (AR) Officer is responsible for the maintenance of the Alsco billing system and the collection of debtors to support the sustained profitability of the Alsco business. The AR position is a vital part of the Administration team and is also expected to provide additional customer service support as needed.

The AR Officer is primarily responsible for:

  • Maximising cash flow through effective collection procedures;

  • Outbound collection calls/emails, sending out customer statements, overdue reminder, and mail merge.

  • Review and recommend action for accounts trading outside credit terms.

  • Accurate allocation of all cheques/cash, credit card, BPay and direct deposits

  • Account reconciliation to determine payments;

  • Follow up and coordinate the resolution of any unprocessed credits & unpaid invoices;

  • Monthly debtor review with manager.

  • Daily banking and processing of all debtor receipts, credit card payments/EFT

  • Processing intercompany transfers; and

  • Customer service and dispute resolution

  • Data processing and filing

  • End of month supports and Adhoc duties as directed by Manager.

To be successful in this role you will need the following key skills & experience

  • Certificate/TAFE qualifications in bookkeeping/accounting or other related business administration or equivalent business experience

  • Exceptional customer service skills        

  • Ability to multitask and work calmly under pressure

  • A strong ability to show initiative and tenacity, particularly required for following up on aged debtors, with a strong eye for detail.

  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills including Excel and Outlook

  • 2+ years’ experience developing successful collections techniques and/or customer service. 

  • Ability to read and understand financial information and easily identify in the numbers where the problem is and know how to solve it

  • Proven experience in successfully reducing and maintaining a low aged debtor's portfolio with the ledger under management
